With harvest now less that a week away it has been a busy few weeks on the farm, firstly with the arrival of our 7 harvest students set to cleaning grain stores and checking over trailers and tractors ready for the big go.

A break in the weather in recent weeks has given us a chance to catch up on field work.
We have pulled down our wintered ploughing for our spring beans to be drilled and the pre-ems to be applied just in time for a good shower to get them growing.
Avadex has been applied to the spring bean seedbeds fields with black grass issues

Most contractors would simply wait until it dried up or make a mess, with the deadline for hedge cutting fast approaching we decided enough was enough and when a customer asks us to do a job we have a duty to provide that service on time. The decision was taken to lay rubber track matting down on grass verges to enable us to carry on hedge cutting without even a footprint being left.
