Farmers and Agricultural Contractors

A break in the weather in recent weeks has given us a chance to catch up on field work.
We have pulled down our wintered ploughing for our spring beans to be drilled and the pre-ems to be applied just in time for a good shower to get them growing.
Avadex has been applied to the spring bean seedbeds fields with black grass issues
With the drill now back in the shed until Wheat drilling in the autumn we have got the sprayers out and are applying T0 fungicide to the Wheat in ideal conditions and liquid fertiliser in between.
Granular Fertiliser has been applied to the remaining Wheat and a final dose on the OSR. All the crops are looking really good considering the weather they have had in the recent months.
With advances in Agricultural technology becoming daily news, we have been trialling a new practise ourselves. With the purchase of a Kuhn Axis 50.1 H EMC W last season we have now been applying slug pellets at 32M tramlines.
Early trials show it has proved it is worth giving an even spread pattern up to 32M with more accurate testing to be carried out later this year.
With all crops racing through growth stages and showing no sign of slowing, I dare to say harvest will be earlier this year.
Let's hope it is a dry one.
